Deciding on your Telephony

Telephony is the cornerstone of many businesses. If a potential customer cannot contact you over the telephone, they will likely move onto the next company in the phonebook and try them instead. More importantly than just having a phone system that can get somebody on the end of the line is a well implemented system that can quickly direct a person to exactly who they need to talk to wherever they may be.

There are a large number of different systems available for most any business sector and because of this it is a very good idea to have a clear understanding of what your current business needs are in a phone system. A major factor can be expandability since PBX (private branch exchange) phone systems may remain the high-end business technology of choice for many more years. Thus, it's important to invest in a phone system that will be able to accommodate any changes that might occur in your business during that period.

Sizing of telephony systems is generally fairly modular. As an example, standard sizing follows the pattern of 3 lines with 8 phones, 8 lines with 16 phones, 12 lines with 24 phones and so on. A more recent sizing method of phone systems has been sizing by number of ports. For example a 32 line system could have any combination of phones and incoming lines. The balance of phones to lines is typically determined by how many lines or extensions the manufacturer puts onto their boards. With this in mind, when selecting a phone system, the purchaser should look into how much potential expansion of the system will inconvenience your business and how much expansion would be likely to cost.

VoIP (voice over internet protocol) is another way of setting up the connection, and essentially entails hosting your phone systems over an internet connection. For many companies, VoIP works out a lot cheaper in the long run. There have previously been service quality issues in the past, with inadequate internet connections affecting the quality of the phone line. So in this respect, often people simply replace multiple phone lines for a large data connection. It does however make sense to look at PBX systems which accommodate IP connections and handsets to allow for future change.

Other fairly important things to consider are the number of locations you will need to hook up to your system, accommodating mobile users who will spend a large amount of their time out of the office as well as any additional services you may require as a part of your PBX. Obvious things you would expect from a phone system would include voicemail, call holding and conferencing since these are fairly integral to many businesses. Other considerations that are perhaps a little less important include speed dials, redialling and call forwarding.

There are also things that you may not know about but could greatly benefit your business, such as sharing the same phone network over multiple business sites. This can help companies who may have multiple call centres or offices spread over several cities by allowing the whole system to function as a single unit. Or computer telephony integration, (CTI).While CTI can vary largely depending on the complexity, from full integration to a simple level it may be the ability to dial numbers viewed on a computer screen. A more complex system might tie customer relationship management software in with the phone system to produce a highly integrated and efficient system. Another ability that is an absolute must have for people on the move, who may be in any number of locations from day to day, is a follow me system, which can reroute calls to a specific person around what they might be doing. For example, they may be driving somewhere and direct their calls to an in car phone or their mobile.

In the telephony market today, there is a solution to cater to just about every user. It would be well worth contacting a specialist in telephony to see how improvements could be made to your communications and maybe even change the way you do business!

Essential Documents Needed to Set Up an Estate Plan , Estate planning is something that one needs to do yet isn't such a welcoming thought for most people. Sickness, disease and death are topics that most people don't like to discuss yet these are incidents that hold great significance in our existence as human beings. An estate plan is like a problem that people hate to deal with. It's there and one needs to do it, but most people simply put it off for a while, with the thought that maybe they can do it much later when everything's too late. However, with a rock solid estate plan, you not only give your family a secure future and less of a hassle, but most importantly give yourself a helping hand in the event of disability and incompetence. It's like overseeing your affairs even when you're no longer around or are physically or mentally impaired to handle your estate.
You may have heard of stories about family squabbles over the death of a relative who did not leave behind a last will and testament. You may have also heard of very expensive tax bills that one needs to pay when claiming the properties of a departed loved one. All of these things can be avoided with proper estate planning. Here are 5 essential documents needed in setting up a good estate plan.
1. Last Will and Testament- This is perhaps the very basic and most important document of a good estate plan. The will contains the names of your beneficiaries or the names of the people who will be taking over your assets in the event of death. You decide who gets what in the will. Without a will, the state decides who gets your assets. Apart from the smooth transition of your assets, you can also assign the guardians for your children as well as many other clauses and stipulations. A will must be drafted by a trusted and competent attorney.
2. Living Trust - This is very much like a will, as a living trust also aims for the smooth transition of your assets to their beneficiaries. While a will is a public document, a living trust is not. A living trust will therefore be not subject to expensive and stressful probate hearings. Many celebrities and high-profile individuals prefer a living trust over a will as this document is private; thus, assets are transferred with utmost confidentiality. However, a living trust is also more costly to maintain. It is important that a living trust be properly funded so no problems will arise upon the death of a trustee.
3. Living Will- This document contains your wishes on what must be done in the event of being critically ill. For example, a living will may stress that you be well taken care of on your last days. It may also include your preference on being attached to machines in the event of comma and how long you want to be attached to such machines.
4. Special Power of Attorney - This document lets you appoint a person who will take charge of your assets when you are incapacitated. This document should come in handy when you will need to sign checks or papers but couldn't anymore. Somebody you greatly trust must therefore be appointed. A spouse, child or close relative is usually assigned. Without a special power of attorney, the family may need to get this document from court which can be time-consuming, expensive and highly stressful.
5. Health Care Directive - While a special power of attorney allows you to assign someone to manage your assets, the health care directive lets you appoint someone to make health care decisions for you. This can be the same person whom you appointed for the special power of attorney document. Whoever you assign must exercise good judgment in case you are incapable of making your own decisions.
It is very important to consult with a lawyer that you completely trust in estate and financial planning. An estate plan is a big deal and is something that you cannot do alone. You need the help of an attorney to draft the above documents and also discuss matters with your spouse and children. Sure it may need a lot of work and thinking, but estate planning is definitely worth it. Your loved ones are secure and everything goes according to how you want it to. It's like having your arm around your loved ones in the event of your passing.

Success Happens For Us Not To Us

Listened to a motivational call today and it made me think...
If you have problems, don't run away from them, life is teaching you lessons. If you didn't have these problems or issues, you would not be able to cope with what other issues or problems comes to you. Life has a way of letting success happen FOR you, provided you take the steps to help yourself succeed.
Where you are, in your life right now? If you focus on the negatives, then more of that will follow. Whatever is happening in your life, is because of what you have been focussing on until now.

Most people don't realise this and continue to moan, or be miserable or focus on the issue, rather than look outside of the issue to see what the lessons you are being taught by life. It is up to you to change things going forward.

You are able to get what you want in life, if you are able to manifest it. To be able to do this you need to have vision and objectives to help you focus. Don't worry about HOW you will get there, just focus on the vision and the objective daily until whatever it is has manifested itself. The law of attraction works, you just have to have blind trusting faith in what ever it is you want that you will achieve this if you focus and believe.
Being grateful for the little things in life, will also help to bring your intention closer to you. Having a mindset of gratitude will make you see life in a more positive and focussed way.

Some people have a way about them, they critique even the smallest things, what they don't realise is the negative vibes they are creating around themselves by doing this. This will only bring more negative vibes. For those that are around these people, if you begin to engage it will also bring you down to their level, and negativity will follow.

Life is far from perfect, so why look for perfection in everything you do? Nature is full of imperfect things, but they still create a vision of beauty.

Send out messages of gratitude daily and you will start to see changes in your life.
Success happens when you have vision and goals and take action to work towards them, success does not happen to us, it is something that is made up of hard work and years of effort.
Success happens FOR those who take action or steps to make it happen

As more and more restaurants are coming up everywhere nowadays, making your presence felt can be a difficult task, especially for the budding restaurant owners. Most of them are unable to taste the desired level of success, even after putting in long working hours and considerable efforts. No doubt, running a restaurant is a full time job, which can consume all your time, efforts and money. Thus, it is important to make your efforts worth it, by keeping some crucial things in mind. Here are some tips which can prove helpful in running your restaurant successfully.

Food is the very first thing that comes to mind when thinking about restaurants. Serving good quality food should be your prime priority, as this is the main reason why people visit a restaurant in the first place. Using fresh ingredients and adding innovative dishes in your menu can make your food taste better and help you stay ahead of your competitors. Apart from quality, consistency is another thing which you should aim at. Be innovative, but restrain from changing your recipes too often, as it can put off customers, who like a particular dish and come to your restaurant to enjoy the same taste every time.

Apart from the food, service is another aspect that requires discreet attention. Irrespective of how good or tasty the food is, nothing can help you if the service is not up to the mark. In case they do not enjoy being at your restaurant, then there are very slim chances of them coming back or referring your restaurant to someone else. Thus, train the staff well as how to deal with customers and make them feel welcomed.

Cleanliness is an integral part of food industry and it can significantly make or destroy your reputation in the market. As a restaurant owner, it is your responsibility to ensure that proper standards of cleanliness and hygiene are maintained. However, it should not be limited to any one aspect but should be followed everywhere, from the kitchen to the front desk. Also, your staff should be dressed in clean uniforms, as it will make them look more presentable.

In a rush to make more profits and seem exclusive, many restaurant owners make the mistake of pricing their dishes too high. While it can work for some high-end restaurants, for the budding restaurant owners it is better to price their dishes reasonably, which their target customers can easily afford. Instead of charging your customers more, it is better to reduce your expenditure, by reducing staff or lowering useless expense. However, make sure that it does not have any impact on the quality of the food.

By keeping in mind the above mentioned tips you can definitely take your restaurant business to exceptional heights and become a renowned name, that people can relate with good quality, great service and exceptional dining experience.

Selling to high-level decision makers is challenging at the best of times. However, it can be easier if you understand a few business principles.

C-level decision makers are paid to improve their business results. Regardless of how the media portrays these executives, their primary concern is to improve their business. This includes increasing sales, market share, customer loyalty; reducing costs, errors, or employee turnover; improving productivity, employee engagement, customer service, etc.

How does your product, service or solution address one of these issues?

C-level decision makers deal with changing priorities. Improving customer engagement may be a top priority today but tomorrow that executive may be faced with cutting $250,000 in expenses. That means they sometimes go cold after expressing initial interest in your solution.

Do you have a strategy in place to keep your solution current?

C-level decision makersare extremely busy. The average executive arrives early in the morning and stays late into the evening. They get dozens of calls every day, receive too many emails, and attend too many meetings. This means that you need to maximize every minute you have when you connect with them. This applies to telephone conversations and face-to-face meetings.

Do you know EXACTLY what to say when you connect with these individuals?

C-level decision makersrely on others. Contrary to popular belief, these high-ranking big-wigs seldom make decisions on their own. They often defer to other people on their team and ask for feedback from peers and/or subordinates. This means you need to involve these people in your conversations and include them in the decision making process.

Do you have the ability to finesse this?

C-level decision makers don't like to make mistakes. A major mistake can affect an executive's reputation in their company. This affects the decision-making process which means you need to uncover their risk factor during your conversations.

How will you reduce your prospect's risk factor?

C-level decision makers have big egos. Most executives have a healthy ego which is one of the things that helped them achieve their status in the company. This means that you need to be very confident in your own abilities when selling to these individuals. Don't back down when you're challenged. In fact, doing so could cost you the business because C-level execs want to deal with people who believe in what they do.

Are you confident enough to deal directly with C-level executives?

C-level decision makers spend the bulk of their day in meetings. The next time you're in the office, watch an executive. Chances are you will see them dashing from meeting to meeting. Your prospects are in the same position. They aren't sitting at their desk waiting for you to call them.

Are you persistent in your efforts to connect with these individuals?

C-level decision makers have at least 40 hours of work on their desk at any given time. Several executives I know have expressed these sentiment, 'I will never get caught up' or 'Just when I think I can't get busier, I do' or 'I never call a sales person back because I already have too much on my plate.' you need to give these individual's an extremely good reason to meet with you or take your call.

Is your approach effective?

C-level decision makers receive upwards of 150 emails every day. Many sales people use email as their major form of correspondence and it can be ineffective because most C-level decision makers simply don't have time to respond to every email. A Managing Director once told me that he prefers telephone correspondence because he simply can't get to every email, even when he wants to.

Do you use a variety of strategies to connect with C-level decision makers?

C-level decision makers think big picture.Stop focusing on your product or your company and start looking at the big picture of your prospect's business. Most C-level execs don't get bogged down in the little details of their business'they pay others to take care of the details. I once met with the President of a $125 million company and made the mistake of asking her questions about front-line execution instead of top-level strategic issues.

Can you see and discuss the big picture?

Think about your responses to each question and adapt your approach accordingly.

For expert artist and designers, the exciting thing about utilizing personal computer sets is that most of these individuals can now combine the technology with the traditional art without compromising others aspects. Utilizing a computer program such as the Adobe Photoshop will now allow you to do the same things that would have done traditional by some people with a pencil and paper, however, much faster and with less waste materials. Most designers and even you can now redraw and get rid of illustrations and images with the aid of this advanced computer technology, even in the last phase of the design process, without having to get more pencils and papers.

To further improve your know how about these things, below are some of the fundamental steps that you can consider every time you are designing your print materials with the aid of the Adobe Photoshop.

The sketching in Photoshop ? most of the professional designers usually believes that the process of sketching is similar when it comes to traditional and digital art. The palette graphics of this program almost replicates the feeling of the drawing on paper materials. However, the drawing process in this program is not really as fast as the drawing process in paper materials. On the other side of the working sheet of this given program, you can make effects such as the halftones that cannot be drawn with the use of pencils and papers.

Preparing layers ? after you have finished with the sketching process, it is now the time for you to convert all the images in your print materials into sepia tones before you work on the color elements. The process of converting the images into sepia tones is a very easy task that you can do on your own. After that, you can utilize the sliders to colorize the lines into yellow or some other colors that you want. In sepia, the sketch lines usually yield halftones that are subtle, which makes it easier for you to view the image but retain its given form while in the coloring process.

Working with the lower layer ? always select a dominant dark type color that the secondary aspect can relate to without losing or decreasing the contrast in your print materials. It is a must for you to do this process so that you will not be lost in the details of all the given colors and images that is floating around your print materials.

Working with the top layer ? finally, the top layer is usually where you can work with the lines of the drawing in your poster printing by adjusting, refining and correcting them. This is also where you can work with the lighter colors to aid you smooth out uneven shapes. Once you are done coloring your poster design, the top layer is also, where you can get rid of the lines that will just negatively affect your print materials functionality.
